Wellhead Compression

Jordan Energy Solutions’ Wildcat gas compression systems for wellhead applications are reliable and flexible. Our standard products, or our custom solutions, can match the technology that best suits your exact needs while they boost production, lower operating costs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and maximize reserve recovery.

Rotary screw gas compression systems for wellhead applications are designed for a broad range of suction and discharge pressures as well as a full range of production volumes. Rotary screw systems have efficient HP/volume ratio and compressor size/flow ratio and have very low maintenance requirements.
Jordan offers a full range of compressors for use at the wellhead and free testing services to allow you to assess which of our products best suit your needs. Testing helps you to identify flow improvement opportunities up front—creating a virtually risk free investment for your organization.
The system we recommend depends on several factors. These factors might include: line pressure, volume, pressure differential, gas cleanliness, gas composition, energy efficiency, and capital cost.
Jordan’s gas compression systems have been used successfully on coal bed methane wells, natural gas wells and oil wells. Our customers have seen production increases between 50% and 200% using our Wildcat wellhead compression units.
Wellhead compression equipment can be purchased, rented, or leased from Jordan Energy Solutions.

Basic operation
Many wellheads have field pressures lower than the transmission line pressure, preventing the free flow of gas from the well. Some deep wells have well head pressures which can also inhibit the free flow of gas.
A Jordan wellhead compression system provides two basic functions to solve this problem. First, it reduces the pressure at the wellhead to increase well production. Second, the system also compresses the gas to overcome the transmission line pressure. In almost all cases the gas output of the well significantly increases.
Jordan’s well test program will help you assess the benefits of installing a unit at your well or in a group of wells in a pod arrangement. The typical payback calculation for a Jordan Energy Solutions wellhead gas compression solution is 3-7 months.

Wellhead compression features

As gas wells are produced and reservoir pressures decline, wellhead compression is necessary to maintain production. Without effective compression gas rate and velocity will decrease to the point at which liquids cannot be lifted out of the wellbore.

  • Jordan Energy Solutions’ standard wellhead compression technology features:
  • Electric or EPA certified GM or Kawasaki power plant
  • Advanced easy to use engine and compressor controls
  • Large capacity water and trash knock out tank
  • Easy fill oil separator tank
  • V-belt drive for flexible pressure and volume matching
  • Standard, high reliability suction pressure regulator
  • 5 gallon engine oil reservoir self leveling system
  • Insulated fuel system for reliable operation
  • Rugged, integrated skid mounted containment system

Natural Gas Powered Engine

Jordan Energy Solutions is proud to be the exclusive manufacturer and dealer for this EPA-certified, natural gas-fueled, Kawasaki FD750D engine targeted primarily at oil and gas field applications. This engine can be used to power dewatering pumps, small generators, small wellhead compressors, vapor recovery units, and more.

Jordan capitalized on years of experience in the natural gas industry and partnered with Onyx Environmental Solutions—a leader in the innovation and development of new applications for propane powered engines—to develop a new commercially available alternative fuel engine. The Kawasaki FD750D has been enhanced functionally and has been certified by the EPA to conform to Section 213 of the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. section 7547), 40 CFR 90 and 40 CFR 60.

Kawasaki FD series engines are high-torque, serious professional power plants featuring overhead valves and v-twin power. Their lightweight design and compact liquid cooling systems make them perfectly suited for installation in tight places like wellhead applications. To Kawasaki’s already world-renowned engineering and reliability, Jordan Energy Solutions has added:

  • Oiling capacity to help maintain proper temperatures during extended run time periods
  • An advanced filtering system for removing VOCs and extending the engine’s life
  • An upgraded electronic diagnostic center
  • Electrical safety shut down functionality constantly monitoring temperature, pressure, engine RPMs, etc.
  • A Forestry-approved spark arrestor
  • And advanced controls
